CAP is a recipient of the Million Girls Moonshot (MGM) grant, a movement that brings together resources and expertise from the afterschool and STEM fields to inspire and prepare the next generation of innovators. Learn more about the Million Girls Moonshot movement HERE.
MGM, in partnership with the STEM Next Opportunity Fund, developed ten practices to help youth develop an Engineering Mindset. To encourage comprehension and use of the Engineering Mindset practices by Colorado afterschool providers, CAP has created this mini-grant opportunity for afterschool educators. This mini-grant opportunity incorporates Mizzen by Mott, a free app designed specifically for use in afterschool programs.

Engineering Mindset
One of the primary goals of engineering education is to promote the development of an engineering mindset. An engineering mindset refers to the values, attitudes, and thinking skills associated with engineering.
Engineers solve problems using systematic, iterative processes. The technologies (objects, systems, or processes) they design address the needs and desires of people, animals, society, and the environment. High-quality engineering experiences that engage youth in these practices help them develop and strengthen an engineering mindset. Learn more here.
