Emotional Intelligence for better outcomes with Clients and Co-W
July 13 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Emotional intelligence (EI) or emotional quotient (EQ) is the capacity of individuals to recognize their own, and other people’s emotions, to discriminate between different feelings and label them appropriately, and to use emotional information to guide thinking and behavior.
Research has shown that psychological safety is a primary factor in effecting successful outcomes, both with co-workers and with clients. Higher emotional intelligence creates a zone where it is safe to:
• Discuss Ideas
• Take Risks
• Give Feedback
• Learn from Mistakes
This workshop will explore new research about the importance of emotional intelligence in our work, including information about successful outcomes employers have experienced using EI with new hires. The training will help participants to increase their own emotional intelligence and create greater psychological safety, fostering innovation, creativity, engagement and job satisfaction. The session will also address the hazards of underdeveloped Emotional Intelligence, including content from Within My Reach, a healthy relationship class offered by Goodwill Industries.
