To strengthen out-of-school-time programs in Colorado through advocacy for sustainable funding and by supporting afterschool providers with professional development, resources, and recognition.

CAP's Advocacy for more funding for Afterschool is in a direct effort to fill these gaps in access.

CAP is part of a 50-State Network with national assistance in acquiring the latest data and outcomes of Afterschool. CAP worked with partners to pass HB-1331 for $3.5 Million for 3 years for Quality, Comprehensive, OST (Afterschool) Programming. CAP supports Lights on Afterschool Events around Colorado. CAP is adding a Youth Advocacy Team to the adult team to collaborate on advocacy events.

Professional Development & Resources

CAP partners with the Colorado

Department of Education to put on the Spring Showcase, Fall Conference, and a regional professional development series. CAP hosts exhibitors at events and on our website, bringing art, STEM, and mental health resources, among many others, to Colorado programs. CAP's Quality Action Team has developed the CAP Quality Guidelines for OST Programs.
