Youth Advocacy Squad
Meet the Squad
We’re thrilled to introduce the Youth Advocacy Squad (YAS Team)—a passionate group of young leaders advocating for the power and importance of Out-of-School Time programs across Colorado. The name “YAS Team” was chosen by the students themselves, reflecting their energy and enthusiasm for this important mission. This incredible team is made possible through the Tony Grampsas Youth Services Grant, which supports the development of youth-led initiatives like this one. We look forward to the impact they will have as they work to elevate the importance of afterschool programs for youth across the state!
Who are they?
The Youth Advocacy Squad consists of 8 youth, ages 14–18, representing different regions of Colorado. This diverse team will work alongside adult members of the Advocacy and Awareness Action Team and Colorado Afterschool Partnership staff to plan and execute advocacy campaigns throughout the year.
What will they be doing?
The YAS Team has a packed schedule of impactful events and campaigns, including:
-
Lights on Afterschool
